Issue ID: 47812 - Resolved in KBM 8.3.3 and Higher

Versions Affected

NextGen® KBM v.8.3

The Issue

NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue on the Cm New Case pop-up where updates to case information do not display on the Patient’s Case History panel.

Example

In this example, the user creates a new patient or opens an existing patient and creates a new encounter. The user navigates to the Intake template and selects Care Management as the specialty and Case & Consent as the visit type. The user navigates to the Case Consent template and clicks Add/Update from the Case History panel. From the Indicate Status section, the user selects the New Enrollment and Referral radio buttons and clicks Update.

The user creates additional new patients or opens up existing patients and creates new encounters. The user navigates to the Intake template and selects Care Management as the specialty and Case & Consent as the visit type for each. The user navigates to the Case Consent template, clicks Add/Update, and adds multiple patients to the Cm New Case pop-up. The user updates the documented information for a previous patient on the Cm New Case pop-up and clicks Save & Close. The user opens the previous patient’s chart and navigates to the Case History panel. The user sees the changes made on the Cm New Case pop-up have not been reflected on the Case History panel.

Actions Required

Currently, there is no workaround for this issue.

Until a fix is available, it is recommended that custom versions of the cm_discharge_list and care_management templates be created. The original templates should not be used. Below are the instructions to create the custom versions of both templates in the Template Editor:

  1. Using Template Editor, follow the detailed instructions in the Maintaining a Default Database document found here.
  2. Do not modify NextGen Healthcare templates. Follow the instructions outlined in the Maintaining a Default Database document.

The following changes should be made to disable the triggers on the care_management template:

  1. Open the template to be modified in the Template Editor.
  2. Right-click on the template and select Triggers from the list.
  3. In the Triggers dialog box, select the rows for the care_management_.txt_filterStatus field where the Action is Assign Field Value and click Disable at the bottom left of the Triggers dialog.
  4. In the Triggers dialog box, select the row for the cm_discharges field and click the Disable button at the bottom left of the Triggers dialog.
  5. Click Save to save the template.

The following changes should be made to hide the fields on the care_management template:

  1. Open the template to be modified in the Template Editor.
  2. Select Fields List from the View menu on the main menu toolbar to display the primary fields list on the right side of the Template Editor.
  3. Select albl_CM_discharge_list:“Discharge List” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  4. Select albl_view_discharge_list: “View Discharge List” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  5. Select Button001: “open_chart” to launch the Button Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  6. Select care_managment_.txt_filterStatus to launch the Data Entry Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.

  9. Select Label002: “Filter:” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  10. Select Label004: “Total rows listed:” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  11. Select Label007: “My Patient Panel” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  12. Select local.opt_refresh_grid:“opt_refresh_grid” to launch the Radio Button dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.
  13. Select version_label: “KBM8.3” to launch the Label Properties dialog box. On the General tab, select the Hidden check box and click OK.

  12. Set the position coordinates to 336 and 343.
  13. Click OK to close the Insert a label dialog box.

On the cm_new_case template, the filter for the Update from discharge list grid should be changed so that it does not display rows for patients other than the current patient. Below are the instructions to change the filter:

  1. Open the template to be modified in the Template Editor.
  2. Select Fields List from the View menu on the main menu toolbar to display the primary fields list on the right side of the Template Editor.
