Please read the New Information below for additional clarification regarding the incorrect lab description for AST (SGOT) test in the NG Compendium, which was reported to our clients on October 19, 2011.

Versions Affected
NextGen® Ambulatory EHR v.5.6 and above, for clients who have downloaded an NG Compendium from the Orders Management Console between the dates of July 29, 2011 and October 14, 2011.

The Issue
NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue where the description "Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID" is incorrectly associated with an NG Test Key for an "AST (SGOT)" blood test.

This issue may have occurred because the NextGen Test Description for blood test AST (SGOT); NextGen Test Key NG001123, was overwritten in the July Compendium release.

New Information

For clients who updated their NG Compendium between July 29 – October 14:
If you ordered an AST (SGOT) blood test, the lab will receive the correct order. However, when the results for the AST (SGOT) blood test are returned to NextGen® Ambulatory EHR, the NextGen Test Description* may display the blood test result with a description of Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID instead of AST (SGOT).

*Please note, the lab provided description will display the correct description AST (SGOT) with the blood test result.

For clients who downloaded and mapped the NG compendium for the first time between July 29 – October 14:
During the mapping process, you would have been presented with two codes as options for mapping to the NextGen Test Description Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID.

• Option 1 would have been to map the description for Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID to the correct NextGen Test Key code (188573).
• Option 2 would have been to map the description for Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID to the incorrect NextGen Test Key code (001123), which is the code for AST (SGOT).

If you selected Option 2 during the mapping process, when you order a lab test for an AST (SGOT) blood test from the Lab Master template, the lab may receive an incorrect order for a Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID test. In this case, the specimen that you send to the lab will not match the order received by the lab.

Actions Required
New Information
If you updated your NG Compendium or downloaded the Compendium for the first time between July 29, 2011 and October 14, 2011, download the new NG Compendium available in the Orders Management Console. Then please look in File Maintenance and be sure that the correct NextGen Test Key is mapped to the correct Lab Key as follows:

• NextGen Test Key NG001123, which is for "AST (SGOT)" is mapped to the appropriate Lab Key for AST (SGOT).
• NextGen Test Key NG188573, which is for "Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID" is mapped to the appropriate Lab Key for Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID.

If the codes above are not mapped to the correct descriptions, manually correct the mapping.

Status
New Information
A correct version of the NG Compendium is available for download in the Orders Management Console. In addition, a script will be available that will fix any AST test results that are displaying with a description of "Fungus Culture W/Rfx Rapid ID."
