The IssueNextGen Healthcare has identified an issue on the following templates where, when selecting the
No radio button for oriented to time, place, person, and situation, the information incorrectly displays on the
SOAP template.
The templates affected by this issue are:
- Female GI Quick Exam – PE
- Male GI Quick Exam – PE
- Pe Peds Earache Quick
- Sinusitis Quick Visit Objective
- Nephrology Exam – PE
- GYN – PE
- Male Uro Quick Exam – PE
- Female Uro Quick Exam – PE
- Pe Cts Quick Visit
Example
In this example, the user creates a new patient or opens an existing patient and creates a new encounter.
The user navigates to the Intake template and selects Nephrology as the specialty and Office Visit as the visit type.
The user selects the SOAP tab and scrolls down to the Physical Exam panel and selects One Page Exam from the list.
From the Nephrology Exam – PE template, the user scrolls down to the Psychiatric section, selects the No radio button for Oriented to time, place, person, and situation, and clicks Save & Close.
The user sees the information is incorrectly displayed on the grid.

Note that the No radio button is selected for Oriented to time, place, person and situation.
Screen 2: This screen shows the “Physical Exam” panel.
Note that the information is incorrectly displayed on the grid.
Actions Required
Until this issue is fixed, users should utilize the Psychiatric – Physical Exam template and select the No radio button for Oriented to
time, place, person and situation.
Users can also utilize NextGen Healthcare Template Editor to edit the pe_nephrology template.
Below are the steps to copy the template:
- Using template editor, follow the detailed instructions in the Maintaining a Default Database document found here.
- Do not modify NextGen Healthcare templates; instead copy the original template and rename it using the Shared Fields option and select Yes when prompted to Update Template Links.
Below are the steps to modify the custom pe_nephrology template.
- Open the custom template.
- Select the Save and Close button and select Triggers.
- Double-click the {pe_psych_.rb_oriented}=2 trigger.
- Select the row to edit and click Edit.
- Update the string and click OK.
- Click OK again.
- Click Update and OK.
- Save and close the custom template.
Status
This issue will be hotfixed for clients on NextGen KBM v.8.3.8.
