NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue on the
Advance Directives template where selecting the
Do not place on life support check box incorrectly selects the
Yes radio button for
Place on life support:,
post-upgrade.
Example
In this example, the user launches NextGen KBM v.8.1, creates a new patient or opens an existing patient, and
creates a new encounter.
The user navigates to the
Intake template and selects a specialty and visit type.
The user navigates to the
Social History Adult template and scrolls down to the
Advance directives in place section.
The user selects the
Do not place on life support check box and clicks
Save & Close.
The user upgrades to NextGen KBM v.8.3 to v.8.3.6 and opens the previously selected patient.
The user navigates to the
Social History Adult template, scrolls down to the
Advance Directives in Place: section and clicks on
Details.
The
Advance Directives template launches and the user sees that the
Yes radio button is incorrectly selected for
Place on life support:.


Actions Required Until this issue is fixed, users should review all scanned advance directives.
Users can also review the template from a previous encounter if available or verify life support selections with the patient.
Users who are upgrading to NextGen KBM v.8.3.8 can utilize the
Ngkgm Psafety Report to identify possible affected patients.
To access the practice template, users should navigate to the
File menu and select
System \ Practice Template.
The
Select Template pop-up will launch and the user should select the
Ngkbm Psafety Report from under the
Practice tab.
The template launches, the user clicks inside the
Report Filter: field and selects
Advance Directives Life Support.
The user enters a start and end date and clicks
Populate.
A list of patients will display and their life support selections should be verified.
Status This issue will be fixed in a future release.
Clients who are experiencing this issue can link their practice and be kept up to date on the status of this issue on the

Just navigate to the Known/Fixes Issues tab, select the affected product from the navigation bar and filter by the Issue ID.
