End of Care Radio Button Decrements Patient’s Total Pregnancy Count

Issue ID: 49963

Versions Affected

NextGen® KBM v.8.3 to v.8.3.5

The Issue

NextGen Healthcare has identified an issue on the Pregnancy Outcome template where the End of Care radio button decrements the patient’s Gravida value.

Example

In this example, the user opens an existing pregnant female patient and creates a new encounter. The user navigates to the Intake template and selects Obstetrics as the specialty and Document Pregnancy Outcome as the visit type. The user selects the Postpartum tab and notes the Gravida (G) value. The user clicks the Pregnancy Outcome active text and launches the OB PostpartPregHx pop-up. The user documents the same Gravida value into the Pregnancy number field. The user selects the End of Care radio button, documents information into the End of care field, clicks Add and Save & Close. The user sees the patient’s pregnancy G count has decreased in value.

Actions Required

Parity cannot be directly entered until pregnancy outcome is known.  Therefore, when documenting the end of care information on the Pregnancy Outcome pop-up, the user will need to adjust the patient as still pregnant by using these steps to document the information:
  1. The user selects the OBGYN Details active text and launches the OBGYN Synopsis pop-up.
  2. The user selects the Yes radio button for Currently pregnant, which adjusts the Gravida (G) back to the original value, and clicks Save & Close.
  3. The user closes the Postpartum template and reopens it to see the Gravida (G) value has been updated.
